Sharpshooter leafhopper
Erythrogonia sp.
These insects feed solely on plant sap which contains very little nutrients, meaning they have to almost constantly be finding and drinking xylem fluid. Because of their high water intake, they have developed a method to remove excess liquid via "super-propulsion", a process involving rapidly flicking liquid waste away from their body using a specialized body part.
