Giant Owl Butterfly Caterpillars

Caligo eurilochus

Like their adult form, Giant Owl Butterfly caterpillars are similarly large, growing up to 6 inches long. They spend 6-8 weeks as caterpillars feeding pirmarily on banana leaves before spending 2-4 weeks in chrysalis. The different colors represent different instars, transitioning from a green to a brown as they age.
