Blue Morpho Butterfly

Morpho menelaus

These butterflies are famous for their bright, irridescent blue wings with several defined eyespots on the bottom of each wing, providing a defense mechanism of both camoflage and warning off predators. It is native to Central and South America living in tropical rainforest ecosystems.
